Bud Light Golden Wheat

Jiiminy, where do i start. Bud Light Golden Wheat. $6 for a six pack. Taste like a Bud Light version of a micro-brew wheat beer. Not bad at all. Not great at all. Pretty much the definition of American mediocrity. It was like eating at Red Lobster. yes. It was just like that. Affordable, generic, safe, mediocrity.

  1. Ok, I finally tried this beer and will be reviewing it on my on blog soon.

    Ugggh, what a mess.

The beer opens with a subtle citrus and grain odor with an initial flavor is a citrus bittering hops.

This finishes as a typical mass produced light beer flavor and a clean finish.

Like I said, this is a light beer, there is no body and it finishes clean...but I could not distinguish between it or a regular Budlight...not a good sign.

To clarify, I would not seek this beer out. It was the "Premium Beer" at Fudruckers...however it is the taste equivalent of Blue Moon (a Belgium style that I only drink when it is the last in the house) with the good bits cut out.

  2. There is no way on hell this is a premium beer. If someone handed it too me, I would drink it. If I had to choose between this and a bud light, I *might* choose the wheat. But only in an American chain resteraunt would this be considered "premium." American mediocrity.

  3. Absolutely agreed. You know me Tommy....there has never been a beer I turned down, but you could put 100 different microbrews in front of me, and I would drink all of them before I popped another Bud Wheat
